Join Maggie on her journey as a first time home buyer
Hi! I’m Maggie. I am a 28 year-old Marketing Manager. I’ve been renting an apartment downtown for five years. Saving money for a down payment has been my focus for the last couple years and I have finally reached my goal.
A lot of my friends live near Mid-town and that is also a great social scene for people my age. So, I’m looking for a home there.
My first home should be in a great neighborhood with close proximity to fun restaurants, shops and night life. I love to garden but don’t want the up-keep of a large yard. Being close to my office downtown is also important to me and since I’m active with a community outreach program here and want to be close to the areas it serves.
One option I would like to explore is buying a home that is “green.” Helping our environment is a cause I am interested in promoting. If there are any renovations needed in the home I will definitely consider replacing appliances, flooring and HVAC with environmentally efficient products. Of course finding a home with these things already in place would be a bonus!
While I’m excited about this journey I realize that there I’ve have a lot to learn about the process and the many programs that will help me achieve my goals.
