Join Lillian on her jouney as she downsizes

Hello, I am Lillian.  I am 58 years old and married to Alan, the father of my four children.  We both recently retired now that our youngest child completed her education.  Now that all our kids are grown, we are looking for a smaller home.  Our current home is too much space and upkeep for us now.  

We would love to move to a quiet, friendly neighborhood in East Memphis. My husband and I both want to be close to all our normal activities, such as church and shopping, but don’t want to be in the middle of downtown.  

One of the factors on our list is finding a home with a nice, yet maintainable yard.  I love to garden, and want space to continue that, but need it to be manageable.  Also, we would love to find a home with a nice patio area or outdoor deck.  Alan and I love to eat breakfast on our current patio and would like to continue this tradition.  Our morning routine is our favorite part of retirement!  

Downsizing our home is going to be a bittersweet experience for me.  I loved having my home full of children and now that they are all grown and moved out of the house, I am going to miss having them around.  Our house has been our home for over 20 years and I will be sad to leave it. However, Alan and I are excited about this change and are looking forward to the next stage of our lives.
